What does the MA SPACE programme offer?

The MA in Social Practice and the Creative Environment is a programme which answers contemporary needs of practitioners who wish to advance their knowledge of social art practice through both theory and practice.

The philosophy of the programme is driven by the focus on our postgraduates chosen location as a site for creative enquiry.

MA postgraduates will immerse themselves in a challenging seminar programme which supports their engagement in a range of theoretical dialogues encompassing the position of artists, designers, cultural practitioners and other engaged disciplines in contemporary society.

MA SPACE also has a high profile panel of online visiting artists and practitioners, both national and international. Each online visiting lecturer presents exemplars of their practice, discussing and reflecting on their particular approach to the discipline.

We also invite curators, commissioners, architects, engineers, sociologists, urban planners, historians, social activists, healthcare professionals etc. who discuss their disciplinary approach to social topics and issues that inform contemporary social art practice.
